Emergency 9-1-1

Use the 9-1-1 enhanced system for all police and fire services, both emergency and non-emergency. It is now possible to TEXT 9-1-1 in this area but texters should be especially careful to include specific details about their location, such as what room they are in and which floor (story) they are on.

Solid waste, yard waste and recycling
The Village waste service is a flat-rate program that requires each household to pay a monthly charge for refuse service. Recycling service is available to all residents, free of charge. Households are billed on a monthly basis, by the Village for solid waste and water utilities.

Vehicle stickers
Vehicle stickers are not required. Some neighborhoods do participate in a free parking sticker program (near Conant and Hoffman Estates High Schools and the Alcoa area.) Contact the Clerk's office at 847-781-2625 for program info.

Water and sewer service
Water service is established by calling Water Billing at 847-843-4824. Service is billed once per month for utility services.

Visit the Water Billing webpage for more information

Sewer-related problems should be reported to the Public Works Department at 847-490-6800 on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. A Village employee will inspect the sewer main to determine whether the problem is the Village's responsibility. After hours, or on weekends, call the Police Department at 847-781-2800 to report sewer issues. If the problem is part of the residential service line (a resident's service line runs from his/her home to the point of connection to the Village's sewer main), a licensed and bonded plumbing company should be contacted at once to see that the sewer is properly rodded.

Setting up utilities

Visit the Village's Utilities webpage for information about setting up other utilities, such as electric, internet, and telephone service.
