The Department of Health and Human Services provides professional and affordable physical and mental health services in Hoffman Estates. Our staff strongly believes that for complete heath, individuals must be in good condition both physically and mentally. The Department provides a range of services for the community to improve and restore both physical and mental health.

Health and Human Services staff can present on physical and mental health topics at your school, place of worship, workplace and group. Presentations are modified to fit your specific needs. Contact the department for more information and to schedule a presentation. Frequently requested topics include tips for decreasing stress, parenting, caregiver support, successful retirement, healthy eating, and healthy body image.

Pharmaceutical drugs and sharps recycling

The sharps recycling program provides residents the opportunity to drop off sharps on the first Wednesday of each month from 10 am - 1 pm in the Health and Human Services Department.  Please note, expired sharps will not be accepted at other times.  Residents who require sharps containers may request a container at the time of drop off.

As of January 1, 2024, expired medications will now be accepted in the lobby of the Police Department at 411 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169.
