The Village Green is Hoffman Estates’ public outdoor event space, with an amphitheater, 13 acres of open green space, and the on-site Hideaway Brew Garden. The Village Green is located at 5510 Prairie Stone Parkway, just west of the NOW Arena off Route 72 in the Prairie Stone Business Park. 

The Village Green features an open-air Amphitheater with informal seating on grass terraces for 1,000, with overflow seating for another 1,000 on the adjacent grassy hillside. The Village Green was created to provide a site for passive recreation on a site that features restored wetlands and grassy open spaces. The Amphitheater is home to the Hoffman Estates Arts Commission Summer Concert Series. Other events such as movies on the green, the Northwest Fourth Fest, and the Platzkonzert German Fest happen on the Green as well.

Village Green Improvements

Update for 2023
The Village Hoffman Estates was selected to receive a $500K matching grant from the Tourism Attractions and Festivals Grant Program through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) in April 2023. The $22.5 million program for 2023 reflects a $22.5 million investment for nearly 90 local tourism festivals and attractions across Illinois.

The grant funding will go toward $1 million in planned investments at the Virginia Mary Hayter Village Green, including concessions and restroom upgrades. "This is a space that we continue to improve for the benefit of our residents and visitors," said Mayor Bill McLeod. "We are looking forward to an even better experience for those who attend our many outdoor concerts and special events."

Phase 1 Updates 2019-2020
Initiated in September 2019 by the Village Board, Tria Architecture Consultants created a plan to revitalize the Village Green.
