The Forestry and Grounds Division provides maintenance and care of approximately (17,000) Village owned trees and (150) acres of turf.

Selected 2023 Accomplishments

The division was awarded Tree City USA recognition for the 31st consecutive year.
The Village continued the tradition of bringing over one hundred 3rd grade students together to celebrate Arbor Day.
Over (361) requests for tree maintenance and tree removals from residents and in-house staff were processed. Requested services included corrective trimming, removal, inspection treatment for insects and disease, and providing information to inquiring residents.
Over (193) parkway trees required removal for the year.
As a result of in-house requests and the Village's contractor assisted tree trimming program, over (1,700) Village owned trees were trimmed.
Over (160) new tree plantings occurred in conjunction with various tree planting programs.
The Village's two seasonal brush pick-up programs resulted in the pick-up of 3,800 brush piles.
Continuation of collection, updating records and assessment of Village owned trees.
Continuation of training for (5) Departmental Staff Arborists to maintain their certifications.
Planned and performed oversight of the landscaping refurbishment of the landscaping at the NOW Arena.
