Mission Statement

The goal of this commission is to enhance the quality of life for the Residents & Businesses of Hoffman Estates by promoting a culture of environmental & social responsibility that is prosperous, healthy and sustainable. We accomplish this through advocacy and education.

Commission Purpose 

To continue the Village's tradition of Growing to Greenness, the Mayor and Village Board of Trustees have appointed residents and local volunteers to the Sustainability Commission. This commission is directly involved in making the Village a sustainable place to live by recommending programs, services, activities, and events that Village residents and businesses can participate in year-round. This includes oversight of the Green Business Program, sponsorship of a variety of community events, and preparation of educational materials and announcements published in the Citizen Newsletter, among other efforts.
