Getting Around Hoffman Estates
Bicycling in Hoffman Estates
The Village adopted its first Comprehensive Bicycle Plan and Map in 2010. This process took several years and included input from area bicycle experts, staff, and most importantly, residents and users of current Hoffman Estates bicycle facilities. The Village most recently installed 18 miles of bicycle and pedestrian route signage with the Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) grant provided by Recovery Act (ARRA) funds. Thanks to the CPPW grant, over 50% of planned bicycle facilities in the Village are now complete! Click HERE to access the Hoffman Estates Bikes webpage.
Bus Routes

Effort to Bring the Metra STAR Line Train to Hoffman Estates
This new commuter transit service would be located in the Northwest Tollway corridor connecting Hoffman Estates with O’Hare airport, as well as continuing south from the Prairie Stone development along the EJ&E right of way to Joliet. Hoffman Estates has taken on a leadership role in the planning studies for this project and continues to support the addition of this new transportation option along with regional organizations and other local municipalities.
