The Village of Hoffman Estates provides fresh, clean water to residents and businesses sourced from Lake Michigan and delivered to the Village’s water distribution system by the Northwest Municipal Joint Action Water Agency (JAWA).  Lead is not present in Village’s water supply from the City of Chicago’s water treatment plant, nor is Lead in the Village’s water distribution system.   There are no known lead service lines within the Village.

Water supplied to the Village meets all Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) standards, including those for lead.   For more information, view the Village’s annual water quality report, detailing extensive laboratory testing results for water purity.

Despite our best efforts to control water corrosion and remove lead from the water supply, lead can still be present in some homes or buildings. Review Reduce Lead Exposure for steps to reduce lead in drinking water.

Concerned about the levels of lead in your drinking water? The Public Works Department offers water testing. To schedule a water test, contact the Public Works Department.
