INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT – Golf Road Sanitary Sewer Lift Station

The Village of Hoffman Estates started construction to replace Golf Road Lift Station, located at 1513 Golf Road. This lift station is a critical part of the Village’s sanitary sewer infrastructure system. This work is tentatively scheduled to begin in August, 2020.

The preliminary budget for this project is $2,240,000. Over 95% of the funding for this project has been provided by a low-interest loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Water Pollution Control Loan Program (PCLP). Funding for the PCLP is provided from both State of Illinois and Federal sources.

The original sanitary lift station was constructed in 1972. Replacement is necessary to ensure proper function of the sanitary sewer system and to prevent system failure. The project will increase system reliability and greatly reduce the risk of sanitary backups, property damage, and environmental exposure to sanitary sewage.

The project is now substantially completed, pending inspection by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) and final acceptance by the Village.
