ANNUAL JUNIOR POLICE ACADEMY CAMP

Mark your calendars for the week of June 24 - 28, 2024; 9:00am - 1:00pm.

The Hoffman Estates Police Department continues to host an annual Junior Police Academy Camp for area boys and girls ages 10 to 12. The week long camp allows children to learn about the role police officers serve in the community. During the week, the children learn about: home and school safety; bicycle safety; evidence collection; traffic stops; juvenile law; internet safety; community policing and the different specialized units in the police department.

The camp is held one week every June and is available to children who are 10 to 12 years old, who live or attend school in Hoffman Estates. The camp is limited to 20 kids. Due to the high number of applications received, children are only allowed to attend the camp once.

The camp is held at the Hoffman Estates Police Department located at 411 W. Higgins Road. All camp activities are supervised by a minimum of 3 Hoffman Estates police officers and 6 Hoffman Estates Public Safety Cadets.

The goal of the academy is to give a background and overview of Police Operations, not to train students as Cadets or Officers.
