White Goods/Appliance Pickup
Appliance pickup is available at no extra charge but must be scheduled with Groot prior to pickup. To schedule, contact Groot at 800-244-1977.

Large or Heavy Item Pickup
For a fee, residents may schedule a pickup for oversized, overweight items, or a large amount of refuse or debris (exceeding 1 cubic yard, or roughly 9 square feet), such as “spring cleanup,” move‐in or move‐out rubbish. This must be scheduled with Groot prior to pickup. Billing is by cubic yard. To schedule or get more information, contact Groot at 800-244-1977.

Roll-Off Dumpsters
The Village refuse franchise program with Groot Industries, Inc., requires all permanent and temporary roll-off dumpsters to be provided through Groot.

Whether you are a resident who is remodeling or cleaning out your residence or a contractor at a construction site (commercial or residential), Groot must be contracted for waste removal.

Groot provides all the standard "open top" dumpsters and all sizes of compactor roll-off services. As part of the negotiated contract, residents will receive a discount on dumpster rentals during a set period each year. Information on 2018's discount program will be provided once dates have been finalized, so keep an eye on The Citizen and our website!

If any dumpster other than a Groot dumpster is being used at a site, a citation may be issued by Code Enforcement, which requires an appearance before the Village Adjudication Hearing Officer. If you have been issued a citation for this, please contact Code Enforcement at 847-781-2631.

Yard Waste Program 
A yard waste disposal program is available through Groot Industries, Inc. The Village also offers seasonal assistance for tree branch and brush collection. Please visit our Yard Waste Programs page for program information.

Commercial Solid Waste Requirements
The Village refuse franchise program requires that all commercial solid waste hauling will be conducted with Groot Industries, Inc. A variety of options are available to meet capacity and pickup needs. Businesses should contact Groot at 800-244-1977 to arrange for services.

Village Code requires that both commercial solid waste and recycling must be collected on a regular basis. While Groot offers recycling service to commercial organizations, businesses are not required to use Groot for recycling services and may choose the best option for their needs.

Placement of waste and recycling containers is usually regulated by property site plan, approved through the development or redevelopment process. If changes are needed to existing conditions to accommodate waste storage, please contact the Village Planning Division at 847-781-2660.
