A Commitment to Workforce Development

GCAMP 3The Greater Chicago Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (GCAMP) (www.gcamp.org) is a regional organization dedicated to improving the perception of manufacturing, showcasing the industry's importance for the economic vitality of the area, and increasing the skilled workforce in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

What they do:

  • GCAMP arranges open houses for area middle and high school students and parents to see advanced manufacturing in action while sponsoring buses of students to attend trade shows such as IMTS and FABTECH.
  • The group works with area community colleges and manufacturers to develop advanced manufacturing curriculum. See more about the Harper College program here.
  • Lastly, GCAMP works with the local high school districts to develop curriculum for Juniors and Seniors to obtain manufacturing certificates while also organizing internships with local manufacturers.
