Join the Anderson family for a fundraising event dedicated to raise scholarship monies for gifted musicians through the Brett Anderson Memorial Scholarship.

Two years ago, on Oct. 22, the Anderson family of Hoffman Estates family lost a very special young man. They would like to share with you the memory of Brett Steven Anderson:

"In Brett's short 29 years, he was well known as the quintessential performer and showman. Among the many talents and gifts that he shared, he was a musician, a singer, a comedian and a DJ. Ultimately, it was the latter that will forever be remembered as his last gig. Brett collapsed and died while setting up his equipment for a wedding in Schaumburg.

"On Oct. 21, 2012, the one year anniversary of Brett's death, BBQ for Brett, the fundraising party extraordinaire, was born. Family and friends gathered to celebrate and honor his life with his favorite BBQ and the music that he loved.

"The money raised from the first annual BBQ for Brett was used to establish The Brett Anderson Memorial Scholarship. Benefiting from this scholarship will be students possessing the love and passion of musical and comedic performance ... a truly fitting legacy."
