The Village of Hoffman Estates is partnering with the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) to host a combined document destruction and electronics recycling event on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Susan H. Kenley-Rupnow Public Works Center, 2305 Pembroke Ave. There is no cost to attend, but the event is for SWANCC-member residents only, and proof of residency is required.

Additionally, the Village will be collecting the following items for recycling:

• Sharps/drugs
• Fluorescent and compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) light bulbs
• Batteries
• Latex paint (small charge)
• Printer cartridges
