Contrary to popular belief, research shows that teens prefer to get information about sex from their parents, rather than friends, teachers or doctors. The wellbeing of your teenage children is impacted by their awareness and understanding of sexual health, as approximately 10,000 teenagers a day develop a sexually transmitted infection -- that's one teenager every eight seconds!
On Thursday, April 25, at 6 p.m., parents and caregivers are invited to the Village Hall Frank Alexa Training Room, 1900 Hassell Road, to learn tools and receive information on how to talk to teens about sexual health. Register by Friday, April 12, via e-mail at nicole.thalheimer@hoffmanestates.org. For more information, call 847-781-4852. There is no cost to attend, and light refreshments will be provided.
