Flu season is just around the corner. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) encourages the flu vaccine for everyone six months and older. The vaccination should be given before the onset of flu activity in the community to allow protective antibody levels to develop. This year, new strains of flu viruses are expected to be circulating. The new flu vaccine will offer protection against these new strains. Health and Human Services will offer flu shots for adults and children six months and older. All communities are welcome. To make a reservation or for more information, call 847-781-4850. For updates, call the flu hotline at 847-252-5441. For more information about the flu, visit the CDC website at www.cdc.gov/flu.
