Acceptable items for recycling are:

• Clean, usable child and adult clothing
• Household office equipment and household electronic items (such as computers and monitors, TVs, VCRs, stereos, microwave ovens, cameras, video game equipment, etc.). All electronic items are recycled; none are resold or sent to organizations for reuse
• Personal documents for shredding (service is free; limited to three boxes total. No businesses. No hard covers, binders, binder clips or books. Staples and paperclips OK)
• Large lead-acid batteries (automobile, sump pump, SLA and marine batteries only)
• Household batteries
• Eye glasses, hearing aids and keys
• CFL bulbs
• Bicycles and wheelchairs (in working, usable condition)
• Motor oil and antifreeze
• Holiday lights and extension cords
• Scrap metal
• Fire extinguishers
• Cell phones and ink-jet cartridges
• Prescription and over-the-counter drugs (black-out all prescription label information); includes medicated ointments and shampoos, liquids containing medication, prescription and over-the-counter inhalers, glass thermometers and other instruments that contain mercury
