On Saturday, May 12, at 9:30 a.m., hundreds of walkers will lace up their sneakers for a 3K walk to benefit the Children's Advocacy Center of Northwest Cook County (CAC) that works to enhance the quality of life for over 600 local children annually traumatized by abuse and violence. Walkers and donors are still being sought to take this event over the top.
Bring your dogs! Bring your babies! Walk for three miles around the Hoffman Estates CAC (640 Illinois Blvd.) and make this a family affair. Walkers can sign up on the CAC website www.caconline.org or www.CAChelps.org. Registration is $20. Walkers can also make donations to the Center directly and seek donations from non-walkers.
Corporate sponsorships are still available in the categories of $100 (bronze), $250 (silver) and $500 (gold). Increasing levels of promotion are offered for participation including publicity, email blasts, logos and company names on event banners, newsletters and other materials. Major sponsors are Alexian Brothers Health Systems, American Midwest Bank, Deerfield's Bakery, Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce, K&M Printing, 94.3 K Love, Health in Balance Chiropractic Center and Senior Helpers and Hermandad De Sigma Iota Alpha, Gamma Beta Chapter.
The CAC uses comprehensive strategies to assist victims and their families. They are open 24/7 to receive calls from those who think a child might be in danger and provide the opportunity for advocates to help any time of the day.
Established in 1989, the CAC serves more than 600 children and their families annually, in 38 suburban communities. The CAC coordinates the investigation of reports of child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse to help bring sex offenders to justice and to provide support and recovery for child victims. This 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization provides all services at no cost. For information contact CAC 847-885-0100 or visit www.cachelps.org or www.facebook.com/CACNW.
