The Youth Commission is pleased to offer two free "Project Alice" computer animation training classes for children of Hoffman Estates residents ages seven to 12 (beginner level). Both sessions will take place on Saturday, Oct. 22. The first session will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the second session will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Classes are held at the Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road. Registration is required as space is limited to 10 students per session. To reserve a spot, call 847-781-2606, and indicate the class time your child is interested in. A parent or guardian is required throughout the duration of the class. Light refreshments will be served. Project Alice was created at Carnegie Mellon University to easily teach basic programming concepts to young children in a fun way. More information of Project Alice can be found at www.alice.org.
