Partridge Hill Sustainable Landscaping Event

Presented by The Morton Arboretum

  • Date: 07/30/2011 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
  • Location: Partridge Hill
    Hoffman Estates, Illinois 60169

Please join The Morton Arboretum Community Trees Program for an exciting event about Sustainable Landscaping Resources for Community Associations (SLRCA).

The SLRCA committee is a collaborative group of homeowners association (HOA) representatives and natural area professionals seeking to educate HOA's on how to maintain their community properties in a more sustainable and fiscally responsible manner.

What would a sustainable landscape look like?
Come walk through a typical HOA landscape with natural resource experts to see the potential path to sustainability. Has your association replaced the same patch of lawn several times? Are your trees failing at a young age? Do you wish you could collect association dues from the geese inhabiting your pond? Experts will point out landscape designs and practices that end up costing too much, harm the environment and fail to provide the beauty and function we desire. Changing some landscaping practices over time to sustainable ones can save money and contribute to a healthier environment -- all while preserving the beauty and usefulness of your community landscapes. Walk through Partridge Hill Townhome Association with arborists, aquatic specialists, landscape designers and other professionals to learn how to spot landscape problems that can be approached in a more sustainable way.

There is no charge to attend, but space is limited. Please register with Eileen Priest, Partridge Hill HOA and SLRCA member at empriest@ameritech.net.

Please limit the number of people attending from each HOA as space is limited. Also, please feel free to share this opportunity. The Morton Arboretum plans to offer additional walkthroughs this summer and fall as resources permit.
