Chronic Pain Workshop
Sponsored by Health and Human Services
Headaches and chronic pain affect 16 million people in the United States. Even with this many people experiencing pain, many do not seek help. Chronic pain includes arthritis, migraine, stomach pain, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder, muscle pain, post-cancer treatment pain, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and neck pain. In an effort to assist people in coping with chronic pain and illness, Health and Human Services is hosting a workshop on Wednesday, June 15, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Participants will learn to live with chronic pain or illness, change expectations, learn how to grieve the loss of plans, explore lifestyle changes and talk about explaining the illness to our loved ones. To register, call 847-781-4861 by June 8. The fee for the workshop is $5.
