Children ages six to 15 are invited to "Build a Birdhouse," sponsored by the Village of Hoffman Estates Environmental Commission. A speaker will present bird-nesting information, and Environmental Commission members will assist children with birdhouse construction. Each child will also be able to take home the birdhouse he or she builds. The event is free and open to the public. Materials will be supplied by the Environmental Commission; however, please bring a medium Phillips-head screwdriver.
The class will be held on Saturday, June 11, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Susan H. Kenley-Rupnow Public Works Center, 2305 Pembroke Ave. Participation is limited to the first 35 children registered. Advance reservations are required, and will be limited to children who are Hoffman Estates residents through June 3. After June 3, if space permits, reservations will be open to children from surrounding communities. To register, call Rose at 847-490-6800.
