Hoffman Estates receives federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to address affordable housing, infrastructure improvements, social supportive services and community development needs. The Village is developing a five-year plan for use of these grant funds, and would like your input on how the funds should be used. Over the past five years, the Village has received over $1.5 million through the CDBG program, and has funded street reconstruction and street-lighting improvement projects, as well as housing rehabilitation assistance.
A quick five to 10 minute online survey on how you think future grant funds should be spent will be available from Nov. 15 through Dec. 15. Please visit www.hoffmanestates.org/cdbg to give your opinion. The Village will also conduct two public meetings to obtain community input regarding these funds.
The CDBG is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Every five years, the Village is required to develop a five-year consolidated plan to establish program goals and priorities.
If you would like a paper copy of the survey, have questions about the meeting or require special accommodations, call the Planning Division at 847-781-2660.
