Join the Hoffman Estates Jaycees for their annual Make a Difference Canned Food Drive. They will be at Valli Produce -- stop by and support them with a donation, or volunteer to make a difference.
Residents have been very generous, and the Jaycees always leave with a truckload. The food pantry appreciates the donation, as pantry levels are low.
Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others -- a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October. In 2009, three million people cared enough about their communities to volunteer on that day, accomplishing thousands of projects in hundreds of towns.
The Jaycees are a young adults volunteer group between the ages of 21 and 40 developing leadership skills through community service. They are an international volunteer organization with over 80,000 members worldwide. The Hoffman Estates chapter currently has 30 members. For more information, visit www.hoffmanestatesjaycees.org.
