St. Baldrick's is the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. It is a foundation that provides research grants to enable doctors and scientists at over 200 institutions to pursue the most promising new cures for children's cancer and make clinical trials available to more children than ever. To date, St. Baldrick's events have raised more than 69 million dollars; however, cancer still remains the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada, which is why Jerseys is stepping up to the plate.
Anyone can participate or come in to Jerseys to show their support. You can sign-up individually or as a team. There is no minimum amount that must be raised in order to participate; everyone sets their own goals -- even the smallest amount helps.
On the day of the event, Jerseys will have a stage set up where "shavees" who signed-up will say good-bye to their locks. They will have the "shaving" station featured on TVs throughout Jerseys to encourage and thank those who decided to help. Raffle and silent auction prizes include: Chicago Rush tickets, three-month memberships to XSport Fitness, Hilldale Golf Club certificate, rounds of golf at Poplar Creek Country Club, passes to Prairie Stone Sports & Wellness Center, Hoffman Estates Park District pool passed, Spa Bleu gift cards, box seats at Arlington Park, four concert tickets to any 2010 concert season show at the First Midwest Amphitheater, Hilton Hotel stay, $100 Travelex International gift cards, authentic Patrick Kane jersey, and many others!
