The Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) will host a document destruction event in Hoffman Estates. IDs will be checked for proof of residency. The event will take place at the Village Hall parking lot from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. There is no cost to attend. Residents drive up in their vehicles and workers will unload the paper into toter carts. The paper is then loaded into a truck on site and cross-shredded in minutes. The shredded documents are then transported to Groot's recycling facility in Elk Grove Village and baled before being recycled into new paper.
