Shingles Lecture

Did you know that anyone who has had chickenpox is at an increased risk for developing shingles? Shingles is a painful skin rash caused the same virus that causes chickenpox. The pain can be severe and persist even after the rash is gone. Adults over 60 years old are encouraged to receive the shingles vaccine. On Tuesday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Village Hall, Health and Human Services will be host a lecture about shingles. A registered pharmacist will give a brief presentation, answer questions and schedule vaccinations for interested parties. The vaccine is covered by many insurance plans, Medicare Part D and Medicaid. Registration is encouraged but not required. Call 847-781-4850 for more information.
