As part of planned road, bike and pedestrian improvements along Hassell Road, the Village is hosting an informational meeting on April 4 at Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Rd. from 6 to 8 p.m. to showcase early design concepts based on initial engineering findings. The public is invited to attend the meeting to view the initial designs, provide feedback, and ask questions of staff and the consultant engineering team.

The project area includes Hassell Road between Barrington Road and Huntington Boulevard, and Stonington and Pembroke Avenues. Timelines call for construction, bike lane pavement markings and other improvements to be completed in 2026. This project is supported by an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) grant through the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).
