Parks for Pollinators Bio Blitz
Join the Hoffman Estates Sustainability Commission and the Hoffman Estates Park District in a fun nation-wide challenge to locate and photograph pollinators (like bees and butterflies), flowers, plants, and other interesting nature or wildlife found locally. This FREE event will be held at Black Bear Park, 1500 Essex Drive, Hoffman Estates, on Saturday, September 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A Park District naturalist will answer questions, share information about the park, and help guests learn about the plants and wildlife native to Hoffman Estates.
Participants will use the iNaturalist app, which allows you to upload photographs you take to help identify the species and other fun facts about the pollinators, animals, and plants found during the event. You can learn more about the Parks for Pollinators initiative from the National Recreation and Parks Association at www.nrpa.org/BioBlitz and view the Village’s event page here.
