The Historical Sites Commission invites the public to a

"Dairies to Prairies" program at the Village Hall.  This free

exhibit, presented by the Elgin History Museum, explores

the history of the area's remarkable dairy heritage.  At one

time, there were over 140 dairies, dairy farms, and creameries

in a 50-mile radius around Elgin.  Now, there are only three
