National Earthquake Drill

  • Date: 10/15/2015 10:15 AM - 10:16 AM

The National Earthquake Drill, sometimes referred to as "The Great Shakeout" is a brief practice for experiencing an earthquake. Just as we practice fire and tornado drills, educating the community about what to do in case of an earthquake is also important because Illinois also has potential for earthquake activity.

Participants are instructed to get under a desk, table, or something secure and sturdy, and cover their heads. This activity takes place nationally at 10:15 a.m. local time and all residents and businesses are encouraged to participate.

See www.shakeout.org for more information.
