She received a degree in French literature from Northwestern University, and taught high school French. She has traveled to France countless times, and has been a contributor to the “Paris Notes” newsletter. Step back in time, and discover another facet of Thomas Jefferson. As one of our founding fathers, he served as America’s second Minister to France in the 18th century, and became enamored by the cultural life, cuisine, wines, the irresistible Maria Cosway and the arts and architecture of France. Learn how his time in France helped shape the future of early America. This is a program you won’t want to miss!

Tickets are $25 per person, and include a luncheon featuring vichyssoise, mixed green salad with Brie and walnuts, beef bourguignon over buttered noodles, mocha pots de crème for dessert, coffee, and tea. Reservations are limited, and must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30. Contact Sue Lessen at 847-781-2606 to reserve your spot today.

Join us as we celebrate America’s legendary third president of the United States, Thomas Jefferson!
