Struggling to hold onto your home? Behind on mortgage payments? Nearing foreclosure?
The Mortgage Relief Project, which is part of the Illinois Foreclosure Prevention Network established by Governor Pat Quinn, can help you take advantage of programs to help you lower your mortgage, avoid foreclosure and keep your home.
Free housing counseling is available. You will also learn how to recognize the tell-tale signs of mortgage fraud.
To register for the event or for more Mortgage Relief Project information, call toll-free at 800-532-8785, or visit www.idfpr.com.
Please bring the following items to the event:
- Mortgage statement
- 2011 and 2012 W-2 and tax return with all schedules (2013 return, if available)
- Copy of rental agreement, if necessary
- Two months of recent paystubs
- Budget of household expenses
- Documentation of other income
- Two months of recent bank statements
- Recent utility bill
- Profit/loss, if self-employed (last six months)
Don't worry if you do not have all the documents on the day of the event. You can still meet with a HUD-certified counseling agency or your lender and get the process started.
