ILLINOIS TOLLWAY ZERO WEATHER ROAD PATROLS
The Illinois Tollway has announced a new road patrol service during severe cold weather days. Effective Sunday, Dec. 12, the Illinois Tollway launched “Zero Weather Road Patrols” to assist drivers driving the 286-mile Tollway roadway system. These road patrols are implemented when temperatures and/or wind chills drop below zero. The 24-hour service dedicates hourly patrols in search of motorists stranded in disabled vehicles or in response to calls that come to *999 motorist assistance, Illinois Tollway dispatch, or Illinois State Police District 15.
